Product Details
Eliza Shephard is a vibrant and fearless flautist, a leading light in the Australian contemporary classical scene and an audience favourite across a wide range of art forms, from the concert stage to opera, theatre and dance. ABC Classic is thrilled to present her debut solo album, I Will Not Be Sad In This World. Featuring works for flute, piccolo, alto and bass flute, piano and electronics, the program showcases the extraordinary versatility of both the instrument and the artist. From the melting beauty of Debussy’s iconic Syrinx and the Romantic lyricism of Lili Boulanger’s beloved Nocturne to the electrifying virtuosity of Anne Norman’s Oodnadatta Who and the exquisite stillness of Ingrid Stölzel’s Leonardo Saw the Spring, a captivating portrait of an artist at work, this is a transcendent musical experience.
