GREEN MUSIC AUSTRALIA
UMA has partnered with Green Music Australia(GMA) to make music more sustainable, by using the cultural power of the music industry. A central focus for GMA’s activities is to stand in solidarity with First Nations people. We’re proud to have joined GMA’s The Music Product Stewardship Alliance, which brings Australia’s leading labels, distributors, manufacturers, and retailers together with the aim to improve the environmental impact of physical recorded music products.
UMA took part in GMA’s 7-week sustainability course, the Green Action Program. That aims to help businesses across Australia better understand, monitor and improve their environmental impact.
Irruk Birruk
In an industry-first move towards making Indigenous music more accessible, we’re proud to have launched Irruk Birruk in partnership with Australian/Yorta Yorta artist Briggs, and Linc Yow Yeh, a Murrie Man of Darumbal/Goreng Goreng/South Sea Islander heritage. The revolutionary music label was developed with a mission to amplify the voices of Indigenous artists and celebrate their rich cultural heritage. It was also designed to protect Indigenous songs and stories from being lost to history, by giving them a platform to share their stories and voices in music.
SUPPORT ACT
Support Act remains the only charity in Australia providing an emergency service for artists and music workers. Our service is offered with understanding, without judgement and in complete confidence.
