Today, HEADSEND release their eagerly awaited second EP “A Delicate Balance”; the five track project led by the entrancing charge & swirl of new single ‘Sit With’. The accompanying video was shot in studio and on the streets of Los Angeles, where the band decamped after hectic touring in the UK and Europe to play their first ever LA show at Rocknite at the Airliner and supportThe Melvins in San Diego.
Recorded live in Byron Bay with Nick DiDia, “A Delicate Balance”, picks up where blistering debut EP Angel Glands left off – their songwriting showcasing new facets of the intense and infectious energy that infuses their live shows. The EP features earlier singles, both featured on BBC Radio1, ‘Biopsy Of An Unknown Growth’, the blazing statement-of-intent ‘Free’ as well as already live-fan-favourite opus ‘Slayerish’.
"A Delicate Balance” isn't a story or about 'anything'. Just a collection of different feelings. I like that songs mean different things to people. I don't wanna ruin that. That's the best part." - Rasmus King
It’s been a life changing six months for HEADSEND, playing their first ever tours outside Australia – driving across North America supporting Eagles of Death Metal plus a string of raucous headline shows across the US and Canada. Straight off the back of the US run, the band played their long-awaited debut shows in the UK – including a triumphant showing at All Points East festival, sold out London headline show and blowing away fans in Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. The band then played multiple shows across Europe including incendiary sets at Supersonic Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin and Reeperbahn Festival. Watch the European tour vlog HERE.
Now HEADSEND are back home to release “A Delicate Balance”, and headline Good Music Parties in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, Tracks Party in Brunswick Heads and play the massive Rolling Sets Festival lineup in NSW. Details here.
Built first and foremost as a live band, HEADSEND’s rise has been defined on stage. Known for their intensity and a mammoth live sound that defies what should be possible from a three-piece, Rasmus King, brother Kyuss, and high school friend Bon Soric cast a transfixing presence. From supporting Wunderhorse on their sold-out Australian tour in 2025 to stepping onto arena and stadium stages with Tool and AC/DC, fan demand grew for recordings, resulting in singles ‘Stove’ and Chugg’ followed by debut EP ‘Angel Glands’, all recorded live in studio.
From sold-out Sydney headline show in May - “audiences are transfixed by the band”(Scenestr) – to recent debut international shows across North America - “…exactly the kind of controlled chaos that genre needs. They played like they had something to prove, because they did” (noflashneeded), to the UK & Europe - “The room exploded…the way that HEADSEND effortlessly commanded the energy of the night was magnetising” (outofrage UK) - HEADSEND continue to build a reputation as one of Australia’s most compelling heavy bands.
