Following an extraordinary 12 months that saw her release a chart-topping debut album, win an APRA Award, perform in Australian arenas and make a major impact in Nashville playing CMA Fest, Rachael Fahim returns with a new single ‘Our Funeral’ released on Island Records Australia.

The standalone single follows the Country-Pop artist’s acclaimed debut album Who You Are and the series of acoustic releases that continue to drop monthly.

‘Our Funeral’ continues the chapter for an artist whose momentum has accelerated dramatically across streaming, radio, touring and international markets. Rachael has built her music around raw, honest modern country-pop, with an undeniable ability to distil complex emotions into relatable lyrics and storytelling.

Speaking about ‘Our Funeral’ Rachael shares, “Writing this song I found humour thinking about how some relationships need to be put to rest forever! We broke up, got back together, broke up again, before realising the relationship was dead and I thought ‘how many times must we have our funeral’ before we let go and move on forever!”

Fahim has accumulated more than 20 million global streams across her catalogue, including more than 4 million streams for the album Who You Are. Released in May 2026, Who You Are made an immediate impact, debuting at #1 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart and #1 on the Australian Country Albums Chart.

The album’s breakthrough title track also earned Rachael one of the Australian music industry’s most significant songwriting honours, the 2026 APRA Award for Most Performed Country Work. Presented in April, the award recognised the enduring success of Who You Are and marked another major milestone in Fahim’s career.

Her radio achievements have been equally significant. 'Too Damn Hot' reached #1 on the Australian Country Radio Chart. The result made Fahim the only Australian female artist to top the Australian Country Radio Chart during 2025, and one of only two Australian artists overall to reach the summit that year. 'Who You Are' peaked at #2 on the Australian Country Radio Chart, while 'Good Luck' and 'Dance Around It' both reached #1 on the CMT charts and entered the top five at Australian country radio.

Fahim’s momentum is now reaching far beyond country music. Her nomination for the 2026 ELLE Next Gen Award in the Music category becoming the first country artist to ever be nominated.  This broader cultural recognition follows a wave of critical acclaim for Fahim and her chart-topping debut album. The Music praised the “magic balance of personal & sticky” in her songwriting and tipped her as “our next great country pop export”; Rolling Stone AU/NZ named her “one of the hottest new names in country-pop”; and Holler Country declared 2026 "a landmark year for Fahim”.

Fahim’s chart and streaming success has been matched by a formidable live schedule. She began 2026 as a major presence at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, delivering a headline performance alongside appearances at FanZone and KIX LIVE IN THE PARK, as well as joining Shane Nicholson for a special guest appearance at his headline show.

In March, Fahim toured Australian arenas with US country superstar Jordan Davis and performed at the CountryTown Awards. By June, she was in Nashville performing at CMA Fest, appearing across two SOUNDS AUSTRALIA showcases and taking the stage at the MCA Nashville label showcase. Those appearances followed an extensive year of touring in 2025, during which Fahim played more than 56 shows across Australia as special guest to Pete Murray, supported Missy Higgins at A Night at the Barracks and performed at the Strummingbird Festival events across the Sunshine Coast, Newcastle and Perth.

Having now performed more than 1,000 live shows across her career, Rachael is now set to appear at Bell Beats, Cowra on Saturday October 3rd and Savannah In The Round on Sunday, October 11th.

With a #1 debut album, an APRA Award, multiple chart-topping singles and a growing presence in the country music scene, Fahim has begun writing her next album, while preparing for more live performances throughout the Summer Festival Season.
