SUPPORTING SPACEY JANE’S AUSTRALIAN TOUR IN DECEMBER

Telenova today return with ‘Happy’, the first new music since their sophomore album ‘THE WARNING’ released in February 2026. The release comes ahead of the band's regional tour dates in Tasmania and Victoria in November, as well as a national Spacey Jane support this December, including shows at the iconic Sydney Opera House Forecourt.
Emerging from the confessional unease of ‘THE WARNING’, ‘Happy’ is part optimism, part desperation, all yearning. Co-written and co-produced with Styalz Fuego (Troye Sivan, Mallrat, Foster The People) and mixed by Cameron Parkin, ‘Happy’ pairs the heart of a ’60s Motown ballad with the dark, melancholic sheen of noughties Scandinavian pop. Building around the aching refrain “I just want to be happy”, the track gives voice to the simple, universal desire to feel happiness in a world of growing uncertainty.
“Despite the tough exteriors, the ‘having it together’, the nonchalant facades that a lot of us out there wear, we’re all masking hurts, disappointments, insecurities at times.” explains frontwoman Angeline Armstrong “‘Happy’ is a bit of a ‘heart cry’, we wanted to give voice to what a lot of people in this world are feeling in a very real and simple way”
‘Happy’ arrives accompanied by a new visualiser directed by Angeline. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
ABOUT TELENOVA
A tapestry of dark romanticism, slick musicianship and vivid aesthetics have fuelled Melbourne outfit Telenova since their debut EP Tranquilize in 2021. Powered by the ubiquitous lead single Bones, plus the sweeping sonics of follow-up EP Stained Glass Love, the band have quickly cultivated a passionate following home and abroad, and were named Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year at the 2022 AIR Awards.
Debut album Time Is A Flower, was released in 2024 to wide acclaim, debuting at #2 on ARIA Australian Album charts. The glittering record showcased the trio’s distinct brand of sleek, cinematic alt-pop, exploring themes of faith, hope, pain and beauty in the details of everyday life.
Sophomore album THE WARNING followed in February 2026, pushing the trio’s cinematic alt-pop into darker, more exposed territory. Written during a period of intense personal flux, the bold and sonically adventurous record explores the tension between anxiety and hope, capturing the realities of life on the road, deepening creative bonds and the beauty that can break through in periods of struggle.
With multiple national tours and major festival appearances across Australia and Europe, including sold out shows in London, Berlin and Athens, plus supports for girl in red, St Vincent and RUEL, the trio has become a revered live act. Accolades have followed the group since their inception, including the 2022 AIR Breakthrough Artist award, multiple music video awards and an appearance on the Triple J Hottest 100.
The distinctive universe of Telenova - shadowy, sample driven songs with prominent trip-hop and electronica influence, plus a touch of playful energy - is the design of lead vocalist, songwriter and filmmaker Filipino-Australian Angeline Armstrong and multi-instrumentalists Edward Quinn and Joshua Moriarty.
